12/9/2019 Louder Than The Music: New Season Review

Updated: Apr 15, 2021

Independent Christian Artist, Taylor Vaden, has released his new project entitled 'New Season'; a five song EP featuring five brand new original songs written by Vaden with two of them co-written alongside his wife, LeAnn.

'New Season' was produced, recorded and mixed by Keith Shimfessel at The Bonus Room Studio in Kernersville, NC and mastered by Wade Starnes at Grammy Award Winning Gat3 Productions in Charlotte, NC.

The 5 track EP opens up with uplifting mid tempo rock song 'New Season', with his clean cut vocals this really works well for Taylor. We then move onto the Blues in the song 'He Broke My Chains', and the production on this song and the whole EP is really very good.

Taylor has this clean vocal sound and there is a real elegance to his singing style - this comes over particularly well in the beautiful track 'Covered', his vocals works so well on tracks like this. I actually think this is where Taylor is at his best, and with this song everything seems to fit together perfectly.

Taylor fits into the similar songwriting style of people like Steve Curtis Chapman and Michael W Smith, great songwriters who write about their lives and how God is involved in all of it. If you're looking for a classic Christian Music EP then you can't go wrong with this.
